DESIGN & ILLUSTRATION

NHS PROJECTS

During my time working for the NHS I worked on a array of projects for all stakeholder groups. Collateral included posters to be used on wards, internal and training resources for staff, clinical illustrations, and medical forms, plus much more.

Each of these elements had to abide to the NHS and trust guidelines, whilst also suiting the needs of their user. For instance, clinical documentation and forms for the children's wards had specific guides and requirements that must be met, however, I also worked closely with staff to ensure forms were as functional as possible, being clear and concise for use on busy wards.

WAYFINDING APP

DESIGN FOR ACCESSIBILITY

I worked on an application to be used by patients with sensory processing disorders to better navigate the hospitals.

People with sensory processing issues frequently have health issues, and therefore have many visit hospitals. However, with the crowded spaces, loud noises and bright lights it can be difficult to navigate. The app offered insights into the areas of the hospital to allow for preparation and set expectations, based on experiences from past patients.

BRANDING AND NEWSLETTER

PROUD 2B OPS

A new logo for 'Proud 2B Ops' was developed for an internal newsletter shared across various hospitals to unify and celebrate each of their operations departments.

Whilst NHS colours, guidelines and typefaces were still used, a unique logo was requested to better reflect the operation departments as it was felt it was widely misunderstood across hospitals and not championed in the current text only logo. The design focused on a desire to demonstrate the departments' roles in 'keeping things running'.
